Bang & Olufsen’s B&O Play Beolit 12 portable audio system boasts of a unique robust design which is portable and convenient to lug around when on the move. This system is basically an AirPlay speaker, allowing melody lovers to wirelessly stream music from gadgets, namely the iPod, iPhone, iPad, Mac or PC.

The Beolit 12 is a 120W digital Class D power amplifier system which along with an integrated 4-inch woofer and two 2-inch tweeters is capable of delivering clear and crisp sound to lighten up a party in the house. The power cord when not being used can easily fit in the unit that is complete with a built-in power supply. Plus, the B&O Play Beolit 12 player comes embedded with a rechargeable battery that can charge the iPhone or other connected Apple devices, besides blaring out music for up to 8 hours when played at normal sound levels.

“By combining Bang & Olufsen’s 86 years of experience in sound and acoustic technology and advances with the latest wireless technology, Beolit 12 allows the user to play pristine music from their digital devices,” states Henrik Taudorf Lorensen, Vice President B&O Play. “We have packaged all of this technology in a compact solution and wrapped it in a beautiful hand-assembled aluminium casing which can be moved around freely with no cables by simply grabbing the leather-strap.”

Designed with a diagonally mounted full-grain leather carrying strap, this portable audio speaker is easy to carry around. The top of the chassis sports a non-slip rubber insert so that the connected mobile gadget can be securely placed when it’s charging or playing out melodies. Again, the top panel is where users will find the power, network and volume controls. Wrapped by a solid aluminum grille, the loudspeaker fabric is visible, allowing for a couple of color options.

Bang & Olufsen’s B&O Play Beolit 12 price tag reads at $799 and it is expected to hit stores by late January in a dark grey shade. Potential users looking to grab the AirPlay speaker in hues such as blue, light grey and yellow may have to wait till the spring of 2012.
