Sony designs five new headsets especially for smartphones and the iPhone

Sony has expanded its portfolio of headsets with noise cancelling technology by introducing DR-XB22iP, DR-EX61iP, and DR-ZX701iP for the iPhone. In addition to these, it has also announced two new headsets which offer full smartphone compatibility, the DR-EX14VP and DR-XB23VP.The DR-ZX701iP for the iPhone is the only over-ear selection from the lot, the rest being in-ear variants. Along with this announcement, the company has also declared the pricing of the MDR-NC200D and MDR-NC100D headsets.

The DR-EX14VP and DR-XB23VP are synchronized with all smartphones running on mobile platforms like iOS, Android and BlackBerry. Other than this, Sony Ericsson, Nokia, and several other smartphones can also be made compatible with the headsets by attaching an extension cable provided with it. These headsets are available in refreshing shades of violet and pink along with the classic black. Both these gadgets come with three hybrid silicone earbud pairs of different sizes which ensure a proper fit to all users for a comfortable music experience. The headsets come with an in-line remote control which features volume control, play or pause options for music tracks, call answer/end, and a microphone.

Parallel in-line remote control feature is also embedded in the DR-XB22iP, DR-EX61iP, DR-ZX701iP headsets, designed specifically for the iPhone. Featuring similar controls, the headsets are also compatible with the iPad and the iPod. When paired with an iPod, a voice over mode states the name of the song or the playlist currently in use, if allowed by the music player.

Featuring 50mm drivers, the DR-ZX701iP over-the-head audio peripherals accept up to 2,000 mW power input. Designed with noise isolating earpads, the headset is expected to deliver studio-quality sound with dynamic frequency response for deep bass and clear treble performance.

The new range of noise cancelling headsets for smartphones and iPhones by Sony is now up for pre-orders, or can be grabbed from Sony stores, and other authorized retailers in the US starting October. Also, the MDR-NC200D will now be available for a price of $200 (approx Rs. 9246) and the MDR-NC100D for $150 (approx Rs. 6934).

The pricing for this new range comprising five noise cancelling headphones has also been declared by the company. The smartphone customized selections, the DR-EX14VP will be available for a price of about $40 (approx Rs. 1849) and the DR-XB23VP will cost up to $60 (approx Rs. 2774). The DR-ZX701iP retails for about $150(approx Rs. 6943). The DR-EX61iP and the DR-XB22iP can be grabbed for up to $40 (approx Rs. 1849) and $60 (approx Rs. 2774) respectively.
