Sony MDR-NC100D, MDR-NC200D Headphones

The noise cancelling headphones range of Sony gets two new entrants dubbed MDR-NC100D and MDR-NC200D. With a view to offer silence in noisy surroundings, the Sony MDR-NC100D and MDR-NC200D headsets feature the digital Noise Cancelling (DNC) technology.

Besides the DNC technology which efficiently cuts the outside noise, both headphones are integrated with the Sony S-Master Full Digital amplifier to enhance the audio quality. Additionally, the signal processing by Sony Digital Equalizer eliminates the exaggerated bass in order to transmit the original sound.

Moreover, the Artificial Intelligence Noise Cancelling (AINC) capabilities of these audio peripherals can be launched on hitting a button. This flexible and receptive noise-cancelling algorithm selects the mode by itself to cancel the outside noise. Besides the power handling capacity of 50mW, their noise suppression ratio is approximately 17.5dB.

The comfortable MDR-NC100D in-ear headphones come with ear buds of three different sizes and are extremely portable. They employ 13.5mm drivers to reproduce high quality audio while snugly fitting in the wearer’s ears. The foldable MDR-NC200D headphones sport urethane cushion to facilitate extended use. Equipped with 40mm drivers, the light weight headset are said to offer outstanding fidelity. They are accompanied with a 1.5m glod plated connecting cord.

Both DC 1.5V 1 x LR03 (AAA) battery powered headphones offer a frequency response ranging from 8Hz to 23KHz. While the MDR-NC200D has a sensitivity of about 103 dB/mW, the sensitivity of MDR-NC100D is slightly greater at 110dB/mW.
