Speedlink wireless solar keyboard will be available in August 2012

Speedlink Solar Wireless Keyboard

The newly unveiled Speedlink wireless solar keyboard seeks to gel with its name quite literally. This cordless peripheral does not require any battery as it functionswith the help of a solar panel.

The device incorporates an integrated solar plate to handle all its operations in the environmental-friendly way. Notably, it doesn’t hanker after direct sunlight in order to have enough energy to work. It simply requires an indirect avenue for sunlight or an artificial source of lighting.

All its functions can be attributed to the power-saving mechanisms, panel technology and incorporated rechargeable battery. Even in the case of weak lighting conditions, the keyboard apparently doesn’t beg for manual charging or replacement of batteries.

“The Wireless Solar Keyboard frees users from cables and the need to change batteries making it ultra convenient and letting users play a key role in protecting the environment. With this keyboard, we’re continuing our commitment to conserve natural resources which we started both with our TERRA product range and through our collaboration with the WWF–something we intend to strengthen in the future,” cited Coletta Jöllenbeck, Director Sales & Purchase at Speedlink.

In terms of the exterior, the body of the gadget sports a high-gloss, piano-black finish. Also, its sleek construction with a glittery solar panel on the upper surface makes it a ready accomplice for desktops. Users can type with the help of the keystroke facility that even provides an actuation point. It is touted to be just as durable as its ergonomic design suggests.

The Speedlink wireless solar keyboard price is marked at €49.99 (approx. Rs. 3,305) and it is expected to hit stores in August this year.
