BlackBerry Z10 has finally jumped out of its rumor-filled state of existence, taking the form of a full-fledged touchscreen handset, with its price in UK also having been revealed. At the unveiling event in Canada last night, it was disclosed that RIM will now officially adopt BlackBerry as its name. The new and much anticipated BB 10 platform was also announced by the company, along with the two main devices that will be seen carrying it.

These include the touch-based as well as QWERTY keyboard-equipped Q10 and the full-touch Z10, but the release date information of the former is unknown as of now. The latter on the other hand, has already hit the markets in the United Kingdom. February 5 will see it being launched in Canada, whereas its release in the US is slated for March. A number of carriers in the UK are now offering it at different cost points.

Carriers such as EE, O2, Three and Vodafone are bundling it with numerous plans that potential buyers can have a look at. They can head over to Phones4U which is offering the device coupled with these network providers. Its lowest cost can be noted to be £0, while it increases till up to £299 with the strength of the plans. But a contract-free value cannot be quoted as yet. Clove has announced however that it will be selling SIM-free handsets soon.

This new smartphone from the Canadian brand comes equipped with the new BB 10 OS, the main features of which include its Flow interface, the BlackBerry Hub, fresh BBM traits and a number of other new additions. As far as the specifications of the smartphone are concerned, they are highlighted by its screen which is a 4.2-inch RGB Stripe LCD display proffering a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels at a density of 356ppi. A dual core 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM8960 processor has been thrust into it along with an 8MP rear shooter, a 2MP front camera, 2GB of RAM and various other features.

In the UK, the Z10 can already be purchased, whereas its Canada release is slated for next week and its US launch, for March.
