BlackBerry Z10 specifications outlined, price and release details still unknown

BlackBerry Z10

We’ve gathered up the BlackBerry Z10 specs a day after we spoke of its possible launch. With the official release date of the BB 10 platform not quite far away, there are bound to be assumptions regarding the first phone that is expected to run the OS.

So here’s an attempt at clearing the doubts. As mentioned earlier, the handset has stepped away from its traditional QWERTY keypad. If we were to take the folks at CrackBerry seriously, most of the gadget’s specifications resemble that of the Dev Alpha. And apparently, all of the L-Series devices will more or less wear the same guise, but they might differ internally.

Coming to the hardware components, the Z10 will presumably be housing a 4.2-inch touchscreen display that reproduces visuals at a resolution of 768 x 1280 pixels. It may also be tagging along a 1.5GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor together with 1GB of RAM to undertake tasks such as browsing the Internet, downloading data and transferring content. Apart from an internal memory capacity of 16GB for storage purposes, there also is a microSD card slot to allow expansion. On the other hand, the maximum hoarding capability using a memory card hasn’t been revealed yet.

Of course, the device comprises of various connectivity features. For instance, users can keep an eye out for Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n onboard to help them to latch onto wireless networks. Bluetooth and NFC have been included to facilitate wireless content sharing. On top of these, GPS navigation can obviously be expected too. The handset should also pack in the usual sensors such as an ambient light detector, an accelerometer, a magnetometer, a face detect for phone calls and a gyroscope.

Even though we have detailed out most of the rumored core components of the BlackBerry Z10, the price and exact release date information is still out of reach. We’re presuming that the handset will see the crack of dawn along with the introduction of the BB 10 OS, which happens to be on January 30, 2013.
