Samsung has updated its range of smartphones with the Galaxy Grand Quattro in India, which seeks to build up on the success of its dual core predecessor and is now selling for a price of Rs 17,290. The device featuring a quad core chipset, makes the most of the Android Jelly Bean OS and is here to compete with a range of budget-conscious handsets loaded with similar chips.
Although the Grand Quattro has been attached with the aforementioned price tag, it can be purchased for Rs 16,900 through the company’s eStore. And those who are not willing to shell out the slashed amount either, can head to one of the major online retailers such as Flipkart, the Mobile Store and Snapdeal amongst others to lay their hands on it by paying up Rs 16,570.
Coming to the specifications of the dual SIM handset, prospective users are likely to appreciate its TFT display of 480 x 800p resolution as it provides a multi-touch real estate of 4.7 inches. Under the screen lies an intuitive interface that can be attributed to the Android 4.1 platform and the device’s enhanced graphics performance is due to an Adreno 203 GPU.
A 5MP camera with CMOS sensor, auto focus, LED flash and video recording capability lays claim over the back panel, while a VGA webcam with CMOS sensor has been fitted on the front for the purpose of facilitating video conferencing on the move. It has as much as 8GB of free space and for those who need more storage for hoarding their digital content, the company has carved a microSD card slot for increasing it further by up to 32GB.
As we already mentioned, it relies on a quad core CPU clocked in at 1.2GHz and has 1GB of RAM to go with it. Users are not likely to face battery issues as a 2000mAh power pack rests under the hood to cough up talk time for about 11 hours and close to 210 hours of standby time in the 3G mode.
