LG Optimus G Pro release date for Japan is in April, says NTT DoCoMo

The LG Optimus G Pro release date for Japan has been confirmed for April this year by NTT DoCoMo, but the carrier hasn’t let out price details of the phone as yet. So far the manufacturer has refrained from revealing anything about the device’s global availability.

Building on the success of its predecessor, the Optimus G Pro flaunts a larger screen compared to the former. The new kid on the block follows the latest trend of offering a multi-touch real estate of 5 inches. This LCD TFT display with the IPS technology, is apt for watching multimedia content as it can render high definition visuals in 1920 x 1080p resolution. While it runs on the Android Jelly Bean 4.1 OS out of the box, the company may release an over-the-air v4.2 update in the future.

The device gains steam from a quad core Qualcomm APQ8064 chipset which can clock in a maximum speed of 1.7GHz. This should help users to multitask on the move, facilitate smooth navigation and ensure fast web access at all times. Prospective users can also expect this smartphone to cough up the juice for usage time of close to an entire day, thanks to a 3000mAh battery. Its 32GB internal memory can be expanded by up to 64GB with a little assistance from a microSD card.

Moreover, the handset is equipped with dual cameras so casual photographers can capture still shots, videos as well self-portraits and even engage in video conferencing over the internet. A 13.2MP primary camera sits on the rear panel, while another 2.4MP front-mounted webcam has been embedded on the front side. Each of these snappers is equipped with a BSI CMOS sensor as well.
