The Samsung Galaxy S3 mini NFC version has been launched in the UK and its release date is announced for this month itself. The new model of the flagship S3’s younger sibling will allow prospective users to make the most of S Beam which enables file sharing by simply tapping compatible devices.

The Galaxy S3 mini NFC variant combines this technology with Wi-Fi Direct to facilitate transferring large files like music, videos, pictures and more. Besides this, the South Korean manufacturer has included S Voice so that the handset can understand voice commands to make calls, send messages, click pictures and more. There’s Direct Call as well to instantly place a call to someone who just texted as well as Pop up play amongst many other functions.

Furthermore, the Google-certified smartphone treats itself to a generous helping of the Jelly Bean 4.1 platform and ensures access to the Play store. A wide range of Google mobile services such as Google Maps, Google Search, YouTube, Gmail, Google Plus, Google Navigation, Google Latitude and others have been pre-loaded on the device.

Compatible with mobile networks like HSPA, EDGE and GPRS, the phone boasts of built-in Wi-Fi a/b/g/n for wireless internet through an open hotspot. Its front panel is dominated by a WVGA Super AMOLED display which provides a multi-touch real estate of 4 inches. A front-mounted VGA webcam has been thrown into the mix for video calling purposes.

Another 5MP snapper with auto focus, LED flash and the ability to record decent-quality videos rests on the back panel. The handset hides a dual core processor ticking at 1GHz under the hood as well as 1GB of RAM and ships with either 8GB or 16GB onboard memory. A microSD card of up to 32GB capacity can be inserted into the dedicated expansion slot. Additionally, the Bluetooth- and GPS-enabled device draws power from a 1500mAh battery.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 mini NFC variant will hit store shelves in the UK before the end of this month.
