BlackBerry Q5 price in India set along with release date

Apart from revealing the BlackBerry Q5 release date in India, the manufacturer has also etched out the third BB10 smartphone’s price. Although this happens to be the most inexpensive handset amongst other BlackBerry 10-running devices, some may still find a price tag of Rs 24,990 a tad unreasonable, considering the specifications that it has to offer.

In this age when Micromax, Karbonn and even Samsung are offering quad core touch phones in the low-budget segment, the BlackBerry Q5 may stand at a disadvantage with its 1.2GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 chipset. But 2GB of RAM backing the processor ought to speak in its favor.

BlackBerry Q5

The BlackBerry Q5 is one of those smartphones touting a touch and type design. A 3.1-inch Super AMOLED screen dominates the upper half of the front panel, lying under which is a 4-row QWERTY keypad. Look for 8GB of onboard hoarding space and if that falls short, then a microSD card slot should facilitate expansion of up to 32GB.

For a mid-segment device, the BlackBerry Q5 holds onto a basic 5MP shutter, while spotted on its face is a 2MP webcam. One of the cameras’ major highlights is that both can be used to capture videos at 720p resolution.

Color Options

The Q5 smartphone has been available in India through eBay for a while now and is selling at a starting price of Rs 27,399. Flipkart too will release the device soon, but the exact date is unknown. The handset will also be joining the Z10 and the Curve 9220 in the EMI scheme category.
