Sony Xperia go and Xperia acro S coming in Q3 2012

While the Xperia handsets of the NXT series are busy with their globetrotting escapades, the company behind these phones has announced the arrival of the Sony Xperia go and Xperia acro S. The stylish devices, capable of withstanding dust and spills are slated to hit store shelves in the third quarter of this year.

The Xperia go is a durable smartphone fitted with a 3.5-inch Reality display, powered by Mobile Bravia Engine. The mineral glass touchscreen is resistant to scratches and facilitates wet finger tracking too. Although this IP67 recognized sleek device is deployed with the Android Gingerbread platform, it can be upgraded to the Ice Cream Sandwich OS. Equipped with a 1GHz processor and a 5MP primary camera, the handset will go by the name Xperia advance in the US and will come drenched in shades of black, white and yellow.

Next up is the Xperia acro S, a water-resistant phone that allows users to capture HD videos as well as engage in HD video conferencing. The 720p HD Reality display also deployed with the Mobile Bravia Engine technology claims to offer razor sharp clarity and provides a multi-touch real estate of 4.3 inches. The PlayStation certified handset sports a 12MP rear-facing camera as well as a 720p HD front-facing webcam. It gets steam from a 1.5GHz dual core processor and binges on the Ice Cream Sandwich platform. Splashed in shades of black, white and pink, it boasts of IP55 and IP57 Ratings too.

The Sony Xperia go and Xperia acro S price and release date are kept under wraps for now. But as mentioned above, these phones will make their debuts in the Q3 2012.
