More than a couple of months after its debut at the MWC, the Sony Xperia U price and availability has finally been revealed through Three and Clove in the UK. The device is now shipping through the carrier as well as the e-retailer in the aforementioned country.
The highlight of this phone is the illuminating strip towards the base that takes the color of the dominant shade in pictures displayed on the screen. It belongs to the NXT series of the Xperia range and flaunts a 3.5-inch FWVGA Reality multi-touch screen, powered by the Mobile Bravia Engine technology. A 5MP camera graces the back panel and boasts of its capability to capture an image in close to 1.5 seconds, recording videos and taking panoramic shots.

With the latest technology also built in, and on Three’s fast network, this phone really does have it all,†quoted Sylvia Chind, head of handsets at Three.
It acquires multitasking properties from a dual core 1GHz processor as well as 512MB RAM. The communication options of this handset are inclusive of Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, DLNA and 3G. And even though the Sony Xperia U ships with Gingerbread, it can be upgraded to the Android 4.0 OS. This smartphone has also been deployed with xLoud and 3D surround sound technology for an enhanced multimedia experience.
The Sony Xperia U price and availability details suggest it is now up for sale through Three for £179.99 (approx. Rs. 15,710) with the Pay As You Go scheme and with monthly plans of £15 (approx. Rs. 1,300) and £20 (approx. Rs. 1,745) that require a two-year agreement each. Clove is offering the unlocked version of the device for £204 (approx. Rs. 17,800), inclusive of taxes.
