Sprint HTC Evo 4G LTE to start shipping on or around May 24

While some issues with the customs had resulted in a shipment delay of the Sprint HTC Evo 4G LTE, the carrier has released a statement saying it will start dispatching the phone from May 24. The device will only be shipped to those who pre-ordered it through the official Sprint website. It was initially slated to arrive at users’ doorsteps on May 18 itself.

A sequel to the Evo 4G, the handset boasts of HD Voice capability and an intuitive user interface, thanks to the Android Ice Cream Sandwich platform and the latest version of HTC Sense. A 4.7-inch multi-touch display dominates the front panel along with a 1.3MP webcam, whereas the back panel houses an 8MP camera and a kickstand to prop the phone up on a flat surface. This primary imager teams up with the ImageSense technology to enhance the picture quality and allow users to click photos while recording videos.

The Sprint HTC Evo 4G LTE employs a 1.5GHz dual core processor under the hood to extend support to multiple applications at the same time. It should offer faster access to the web, considering that it runs on the 4G LTE network. Additionally, the Beats Audio technology has been added to this phone.

The Sprint HTC Evo 4G LTE price and release date now stand at $199.99 (approx. Rs. 10,230) and May 24, respectively.
