The LG Optimus G release date for Korea is slated to fall in the forthcoming week, while the handset will hit stores worldwide in October. This flagship device is wrapped in a sleek unibody design with a Crystal Reflection coating to give it a premium appearance.

The smartphone runs on the Ice Cream Sandwich platform with fresh features that enable cross-tasking. This means that customers will be able to complete various operations simultaneously without having to compromise on other tasks. The QSlide function provides a split screen view for carrying out two operations at once, while the Dual Screen and Dual Play attribute permits wireless streaming of different content on each connected display.

“The Optimus G is a groundbreaking premium device not only in the history of LG but also in the smartphone industry,” explained Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “With the Optimus G, users will be able to experience unsurpassed UX features that will allow them to perform tasks that really enhance their daily lives.”

Users will be able to zoom in and out of videos, music player, emails, texts, images and much more, owing to the Live Zooming and Screen Zooming highlight. Apps like the QuickMemo tool, Application Link and Icon Personalizer are also thrown into the mix. Running through some of the main specs of the handset, it packs in a 4.7-inch XVGA True HD IPS+ capacitive display, a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad core processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory, a 1.3MP front-facing camera and a 2100mAh battery.

The LG Optimus G price details have not yet been disclosed. However, the handset’s release date for Korea is slated for next week, followed by global markets in October.
