LG Optimus 4X HD sets foot in Europe

LG Optimus 4X HD Launch

Just a while ago, we had reported about the LG Optimus 4X HD hitting store shelves in June, after it was introduced at the Mobile World Congress in February. The quad core smartphone is now up for grabs throughout Germany.

The smartphone gains steam from Nvidia’s 4-Plus-1 quad core mobile processor, or Tegra 3, that lays claim to delivering high performance and speed. The embedded CPU automatically activates all the cores when maximum power is called for, or switches to the fifth battery-saver core when the situation is just the opposite.

The fifth core helps saving power when the device is in standby or in music playback mode or in any similar state, where it can sip on less juice. Additionally, the gadget features an Eco-Mode application that enables users to manage power consumption and performance by shutting down any of the four cores. The smartphone boasts a 2,150mAh battery coupled with SiO+ technology that should offer a good amount of usage between charges.

“The Optimus 4X HD is fast but speed alone isn’t what makes this smartphone so great,” explained Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Electronics. “Differentiated User Experience and exclusive features LG engineers have developed for this device set this phone apart as much as it’s Tegra 3 brain. With Optimus 4X HD, we’ve set the bar quite high for the industry and the competition.”

Running through the specs, the handset sports a 4.7-inch true HD IPS display, which is an RGB IPS panel that delivers a resolution of 1280 x 720p at 313ppi image clarity. Employing the pre-installed Quick Memo app, users can pen down notes without having to exit the application they happen to be accessing. Features like Fingertip Seek, Live Zooming and Time Catch Shot are part of the package too.

The LG Optimus 4X HD price via Clove UK is £456 (approx. Rs. 31,965), that’s inclusive of VAT. It will be available in the rest of Europe within the upcoming weeks.
