Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE price drops to half on AmazonWireless

Garnet Red Galaxy S3

Budget-minded customers eagerly waiting to get their hands on the Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE can now pick up the handset at a dropped down price of $99.99 via AmazonWireless. It seems to be available only for a limited period and there is no official confirmation on how long the promotion will last.

While placing an order for the handset, buyers will have options of signing up for a contract with either Sprint, Verizon or AT&T. They might have to create a new individual or family account, add a contract to the existing account or extend the term of the current agreement. As of now, only the 16GB version is available at half the price, dipped in shades of pebble blue, marble white and garnet red. As most are aware, the latter color is exclusive for AT&T.

As Gizmodo points out, one of the prime reasons behind the fall in price could be the highly anticipated iPhone 5 launch that’s slated for today. The release has already generated a huge following and a cut in the cost for the S3 could take the minds off Apple’s next big thing, for a while at least. The handset still appears to be popular and it could pose as a good competitor for the iPhone 5.

$99.99 Galaxy S3

For those new to the handset, it wears a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED touch panel and packs in a 1.5GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor as well as an 8MP rear-facing camera. The device runs on the Ice Cream Sandwich platform and it is capable of delivering up to 9.2 hours of talktime on a single charge through a 2100mAh Li-ion battery.

As mentioned above, the 16GB Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE is available via AmazonWireless at a discounted price of $99.99 (approx. Rs. 5,460) for Verizon, Sprint and AT&T networks.
