The entry-level MetroPCS Huawei Activa 4G smartphone has hit the US in all its 4G LTE glory. The handset is the latest addition to the network carrier’s portfolio, riding on this particular 4G wave.

Functioning on a Gingerbread OS platform the device is supported by an integrated GDM7240 single-chip customized by GCT. The Huawei smartphone is decorated with a 3.5-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen on the front. On the back panel is a 5MP snapper that comes with an LED flash and a front-facing VGA camera for video conferencing.

The 4G phone’s 151MB internal memory is complemented by expansions of up to 32GB. It also happens to support Wi-Fi and stereo Bluetooth connectivity. The gadget is bundled in with a 4GB microSD card and pre-loaded with the Kung Fu Panda 2 flick. The device has a battery life of 1880mAh that includes around 3.3 hours of talk time and it can survive for up to 105 hours while on standby.

The MetroPCS Huawei Activa 4G price is tagged at $149 (approx. Rs. 8,300) after an instant discount and mail-in rebate. It will be available online and can also be picked up through the service provider’s retail outlets.
