Motorola Electrify 2 and Defy XT U.S. Cellular bring in the Android power

The Motorola Electrify 2 and Defy XT have come to U.S. Cellular with the Android experience and sturdy form factors. To top it off, the former is said to be the carrier’s first handset to feature the Smartactions app that eases out daily tasks.

Scaling 8.4mm in depth, the Electrify 2 is crafted out of Kevlar fiber that contributes to its durability. A 4.3-inch ColorBoost touchscreen sits pretty on the front panel protected by a splash-guard coating that prevents it from getting damaged due to spills. Resting beneath the chassis is a 1.2GHz dual core processor that assists the Ice Cream Sandwich OS. There is also an 8MP rear-facing camera which tags along features like LED flash and is capable of delivering full HD video recording.

U.S. Cellular Android Phones

Unlike the aforementioned device, the Motorola Defy XT with its the 3.7-inch display, drags along a 5MP primary snapper for photography purposes. There is a secondary webcam that facilitates video conferencing on the move. Now to augment its durability, the company has cast the Gingerbread-based handset in a strapping build that is capable of resisting spills, dust and scratches to a certain extent. Users can access Google Play to pick up a host of apps, games, books and much more. Lastly, a compass, a music player, a pedometer and so on are thrown into the customizable activity dashboards.

The Motorola Electrify 2 U.S. Cellular price is marked at $179.99 (approx. Rs. 10,045), inclusive of a $100 (approx. Rs. 5,590) mail-in rebate, a two-year contract and applicable data plans. The Motorola Defy XT price is still under wraps, but it will be up for grabs via the carrier’s online store by tomorrow.
