Less than a week after announcing the AMD-powered Aspire One netbook, the company has bounced back in the UK with the Acer Aspire M5 Ultrabook series. These performance-oriented devices are said to be convenient to carry as well as apt for extended use, thanks to the long battery life.

The Ultrabooks in this series will be made available in configurations of 14 and 15 inches. These portable devices come enclosed in 20mm silver colored metallic exteriors featuring smooth angles and clean lines for a minimalist design. The notebooks cram in the Nvidia GeForce GT640M GPUs with 1GB DDR5 under the hood, which support PhysX for gaming and enhanced visuals. Film-like geometric detail, improved animation and smooth curves can be attributed to Microsoft DirectX 11.
