Acer Aspire S3 Ultrabook offers 50-day power life, faster connectivity

Acer logo Promising faster internet connectivity at all times, the Acer Aspire S3 Ultrabook claims to pack in features of full-fledged computer systems in its sleek and light form factor. The eco-friendly attributes of the notebook reduce power consumption in order to provide a longer battery life of up to 50 days.

The sleek metallic Acer Aspire S3 Ultrabook enclosed in aluminum and magnesium alloy casing, weighs less than 1.5 kilograms and is extremely thin at 1.3cm. Fitted with a 13.3-inch HD LED display, the Ultrabook employs a full-size FineTip chiclet keyboard. The power efficient fan motor, air outlet and other warm components are positioned towards the rear to eliminate heat discomfort.

Two innovative features included in the notebook are Acer Green Instant On and Acer Instant Connect. The former enhances energy efficiency of this device along with offering swift responsiveness while the latter reduces its internet start up time by about four times. It resumes from the sleep and deep sleep modes within 1.5 seconds and 6 seconds, respectively.

Fuelled by the second generation Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 processors and a high-density battery, the Acer Aspire S3 Ultrabook is integrated with a solid state drive. Additionally, it can support SSDs up to 240GB and hard drives of capacity 500GB. It is incorporated with The Dolby Home Theater v4 for improved audio quality. Also, the Ultrabook sports the Acer Crystal Eye 1.3 megapixel webcam along with a microphone.

Besides Acer InviLink Nplify 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi Certified technology, the device facilitates wireless connections via Bluetooth. Further, its 2-in-1 card reader allows data transfer through SD memory cards and MultiMediaCard. In addition to this, the HDMI output of this notebook can be used to connect it to big screen HDTVs.

The Acer Aspire S3 Ultrabook is priced between €799 (approx. Rs. 51,942) and €1,199 (approx. Rs. 77,946). The device is slated to hit stores this month in select markets.
