The Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon price and release date details were kept a secret even though the laptop was unveiled back in May. And after a long wait, the company has finally spilled the beans about its highly anticipated Ultrabook that’s claimed to deliver up to 6.3 hours of battery life.

As Engadget points out, the entry-level version is powered by an Intel Core i53317U processor that is clocked at 1.7GHz. In terms of memory, the company has equipped the device with 4GB RAM and a 128GB SSD. There is also an integrated Intel HD Graphics chipset that aims at enhancing the overall visual experience. Users can opt for 3G connectivity for an on-the-move internet browsing experience.

New Thinkpad X1 Ultrabook

Both the $1,499 and $1,649 editions share a 1.8GHz Intel Core i5 processor to carry out operations. The former features a 128GB SSD, while the latter boasts of a higher storage capacity through an integrated 256GB SSD. For the high-end version, the manufacturer has incorporated a 2GHz Intel Core i7 CPU at a price of $1,849.

Apart from the above mentioned features, the device dons a 1600 x 900p screen against the year-old Thinkpad X1’s 1366 x 768p display. Its size has been pulled up an inch to render a wider workspace. The Ultrabook tips the scales at less than 3 pounds owing to the carbon fiber casing. Then there are features like Intel vPro management and BIOS locker that tighten up the system’s security. Lastly, the laptop sports a 45Wh battery that’s said to reach an 80 percent charge level in just about 30 minutes.

The Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon price and release date have been officially confirmed. The laptops will retail starting at $1,399 (approx. Rs. 77,200) and the price will go all the way up to $1,849 (approx. Rs. 102,040) for the high-end version, with the availability date pinned down for August 21.
