Lenovo augments computing experience with ThinkPad X1 laptop

Previously, we reported an article when Lenovo introduced its Z570 and G570 notebooks in India. For mobile professionals who demand the best in performance, mobility and entertainment, the company has now launched its new ThinkPad X1 laptop. This sleek device flaunts its ultra-thin form factor and choices of second-generation Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 processors, which are generally offered on the company’s 14 and 15-inch laptops.

This engineering enables the ThinkPad X1 laptop to double the CPU performance and quadruple the graphics performance of the ThinkPad X301, the company’s previous flagship 13-inch laptop. The lightweight device boasts of its interior roll cage and magnesium chassis. It is adorned by a 13.3-inch glossy screen that sports Corning Gorilla glass for reliability and scratch resistance.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 laptop comes along with Lenovo’s new RapidCharge battery technology that seamlessly charges around 80 percent in 30 minutes. This technology is touted to charge 2.5 times faster than the usual ThinkPad battery. Besides, RapidCharge merges swift charge cells with a 1,000 cycle battery designed to last three years. Users can also snap up a RapidCharge external slice battery to enhance the overall battery life to 10 hours.

The keyboard discards few legacy keys like SysRq while keeping superior functionality comprising dedicated multimedia and voice calling controls. Users can effortlessly work in low light conditions, thanks to the keyboard’s backlight. The multimedia experience is leveraged with Dolby Home Theater v4 sound and its superbright 350 nit HD display. The device connects and streams 1080p wirelessly to a TV or projector with its HDMI port and Intel Wireless Display technology.

The ThinkPad laptops sport a platform of new elements that answer imperative business requirements with video and voice calling, enterprise management features and by developing an easy-to-use computing experience. Users can enjoy clear video calls with the laptop’s optional mobile broadband, 720p camera, high definition microphones and advanced calling modes. The security level is uplifted with options such as Intel vPro technology, encrypted hard drives with remote management support and a fingerprint reader with one touch swipe for power on and authentication. It also features Lenovo Enhanced Experience 2.0 for Windows 7.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 laptop can now be purchased through business partners and the official website for a starting price of around $1,399 (approx Rs. 62,960).
