A D-pad controller meant for your fingers, the Ringbow gaming accessory allows its users to have better control when playing touch based games. This ring will enter mass production if the designers manage to collect funds worth $100,000 through Kickstarter. When we last checked, the project had 831 backers, who pledged $45,334.

Considering that touchscreen displays are controlled by fingers, a ring comes across as a practical option for such devices. Apparently, the first accessory to have been devised for multi-touch gaming, the Ringbow works towards adding multiple layers of functionality. It is said to be equivalent to a mouse or a joystick.

Meant for Android and iOS platforms, this compact accessory can work with basically any Bluetooth enabled device. Besides an intuitive experience, it offers tactile feedback and claims to extend support to a number of existing applications. Its designers have also joined forces with some developers that will enable them to provide exclusive game packages to prospective users.

Basically, the gadget in question is a D-pad style controller and facilitates uninterrupted gaming for close to 5 hours at a stretch. It is bundled along with a micro-USB cable for charging purposes. Additionally, players are required to install the Ringbow control panel application onto their Android or iOS devices. And Apart from playing, it can be used for remote browsing while reading, answering phone calls, controlling TVs, correcting spellings in emails and more.

The Ringbow gaming accessory is expected to start shipping during the holiday season. Interested users will have to pledge at least $45 (approx. Rs. 2,565) to reserve their ring. Kickstarter will stop accepting pre-orders on July 22.
