Nintendo 3DS XL coming to Europe this July

Nintendo 3DS XL

A larger version of the 3DS console, the Nintendo 3DS XL has geared up to land in Europe with a 90 percent larger screen compared to the former. It will be made available in the region starting July 28.

Its upcoming availability was revealed via a Nintendo Direct video. According to the company, this device will work towards creating ‘even more immersive entertainment experiences,’ while being portable enough to be carried along for gaming on the move. It will come splashed in color combinations of silver and black, red and black as well as blue and black.

Considering that it’s a handheld console, long battery life is a prerequisite and the manufacturer claims that it can outperform its predecessor as the 3DS XL keeps the juices flowing for a longer period of time. It has been pre-loaded with a 4GB SD card that can hold downloadable games and videos purchased via Nintendo eShop.

Prospective users can rest assured as the device is not likely to dig a very deep hole in their pockets. The company has adopted certain measures to keep the price in check, even with a larger screen. As most users already possess a handheld console, Nintendo has decided to give the AC adapter a miss in order to bring down the cost. Additionally, some new titles will also be released in the course of the next few months. New Super Mario Bros. 2 is coming in August, while New Art Academy, Freakyforms Deluxe Your Creation and Alive! will be made available on July 28.

The Nintendo 3DS XL price and release date stand at $199.99 (approx. Rs. 11,425) and July 28, respectively. It will arrive in North America on August 19.
