Nintendo Wii U launched at the E3

The much awaited Nintendo Wii U gaming console finally saw the light of the day at the recently unfolded E3. The console is accompanied by the Nintendo Wii U GamePad and a horde of titles developed by companies like Electronic Arts, SEGA, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Ubisoft and more.

The console in question is fueled by a multi core processor along with the AMD Radeon GPU that should render decent graphics. It works with most Wii compliant accessories as well as SD cards and external USB drives. This device sports four USB 2.0 ports, which extend support to Wii LAN adapters and

“The GamePad doesn’t just introduce a new type of game play, it redefines an entire dynamic. With asymmetric game play, multiple experiences are possible in the same game at the same time. That’s transformative. While games are the focus of this year’s E3, the Wii U story also includes the enhanced social connections and integrated entertainment experiences created by the GamePad. We’re providing a glimpse of that with the introduction of Miiverse and by revealing partnerships with some of the biggest content providers on the planet,” stated Nintendo of America President and COO Reggie Fils-Aime.

The GamePad bundled along with this gaming device boasts of a 6.2-inch 16:9 LCD touchscreen in addition to dual analog sticks and conventional buttons. It is deployed with an accelerometer, a gyroscope and geomagnetic sensors to make it capable of detecting motions. Additionally, the NFC enabled controller is also embedded with a microphone, a front-mounted camera and stereo speakers.

Although it already has a dedicated product page on Amazon.com, the Nintendo Wii U price and release date have not been mentioned as yet.
