MultiSync PA301W displays from NEC make their debut

NEC LogoJust a few days back, we saw NEC giving us what’s touted to be the world’s first contactless hybrid finger scanner. Dubbed as the HS100-10 scanner, it is claimed to be the premier device that is able to pick up fingerprints and finger vein characteristics simultaneously without actual physical contact. Now the company takes the veil off its 30-inch MultiSync PA301W-BK display as well as PA301W-BK-SV display with SpectraViewII calibration software and sensor.

The MultiSync offerings can easily be employed with color-critical applications like video editing, photography, CAD/CAM and retouching. They sport a robust appearance with a fully ergonomic stand and provide owners 2560×1600 resolution and 10-bit wide color gamut LCD panel. Time-saving attributes are also found embedded into the displays like factory-calibrated digital uniformity correction, five customizable Picture Mode presets and ability to load ICC profiles. The new NEC products offer users the flexibility of utilizing two computers together via the built-in USB hub and DisplaySync Pro. Simple display calibration is further acquired thanks to the standalone hardware calibration.

“The addition of the MultiSync PA301W to our professional desktop lineup brings even more connectivity and color performance to photographers and other graphics users,” explained Art Marshall, Product Manager of professional and medical desktop monitors at NEC Display Solutions. “This flagship display, with its high 4-megapixel resolution, four digital inputs and factory-calibrated color and uniformity, is the new standard for professional graphics, and the praise we’ve received from the industry has confirmed this.”

The company has further embedded these displays with complimentary MultiProfiler software for controlling and tweaking various features through a mouse. These include Picture in Picture, Picture by Picture and Picture Mode preset window configuration. Color modes can be adjusted and created with ease as the software helps in loading ICC profiles. It is compatible with Microsoft Windows 2000, Vista, XP and Windows 7 as well as Apple Mac OS 10.3.9 or higher.

The PA301W displays also features brightness of 350 cd/m² in landscape, contrast ratio of 1000:1, internal 14-bit programmable 3D lookup table. Other features include XtraView+ for offering the widest viewing angles of up to 178 degrees with least off-angle color shift, Color Vision Emulation and SpectraViewII Color Calibration Solution. These products are also DICOM compatible for medical review and referral applications.

The MultiSync PA301W-BK and PA301W-BK-SV from NEC can be purchased for individual estimated street prices of $2,299 (approx. Rs. 103,200) and $2,549 (approx. Rs. 114,422). These models come backed with a 4-year limited parts and labor warranty.
