NEC to display HS100-10 Contactless Hybrid Finger Scanner at Pulse 2011

HS100-10

Here’s yet another innovation from NEC to enter the technological market sphere. The company calls it the world’s first device to obtain fingerprint and finger vein characteristics, negating any physical contact. The all new NEC HS100-10 Contactless Hybrid Finger Scanner comes with a superior authentication system.

The system equips a contactless sensor to pick up exceedingly dry or even moist fingers with utmost accuracy. This could be difficult using conventional devices. The device can be connected to a PC, be it a standalone or an ActiveDirectory environment.

The HS100-10 offers compatibility with management softwares from IBM and Novell. The combination supports ID and access management along with biometric data significantly. Thus, it helps against proliferation of user IDs and passwords. NEC is said to enable the device to be used with a wide range of business packages as well as user applications by making available the ‘Hybrid Finger Authentication Development Library.’

The company is expected to showcase the HS100-10 at Pulse 2011 to be held in Las Vegas, USA starting February 27.
