Polaroid iM1836 price revealed, Android camera’s release date set for Q1 2013

Polaroid iM1836 Android Camera

The exact Polaroid iM1836 release date has not been mentioned as yet, but the company has revealed that this Android smart camera will be available in the first quarter itself for a price of around $400. Unveiled at the CES 2013, the device facilitates clicking good-quality images and sharing them instantly on the web.

The 18MP Polaroid iM1836 Android camera takes advantage of the Jelly Bean v4.1 OS and is also fitted with a 10 – 30mm optical zoom lens. Moreover, professional photographers can make use of interchangeable lenses as this shooter is said to be compatible with most Micro Four Thirds system optics, but with a little assistance from an adapter. The lightweight device works towards offering DSLR-like professional image quality via its compact form factor.

A 3.5-inch LCD multi-touch display provides access to the intuitive interface that can be attributed to the Android platform. Prospective users can capture panorama shots for landscape photography without attaching equipments to the snapper. Auto blink, pop-up flash, and auto face exposure are just some of the other features of this smart camera.

And that’s not quite all. This Google-certified shooter can also be used for the purpose of making high definition movies of 1080p resolution. An HDMI connector is in place to transform the device into a mobile multimedia player. This port enables customers to tether it to a monitor or a big screen HDTV to view captured pictures and videos.

But this camera’s capabilities are not limited to only clicking pictures, it can just as easily be used to share these photos with friends via social networking websites like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Flickr to name a few. This is possible via the built-in peer-to-peer Wi-Fi as well as the pre-loaded Polaroid photo sharing apps. Additionally, its Bluetooth technology comes in handy for instantly transferring data to compatible gadgets.

The Polaroid iM1836 is slated to hit markets in Q1 2013 for $399 (approx Rs. 21,760).
