Nikon 1 J3, S1 price details out, release date expected to be in February

The Nikon 1 J3 and S1 release date will fall sometime in February and the company has revealed the price of these gadgets already. Besides these 1 System cameras, the OEM in question has also introduced lenses dubbed 1 NIKKOR VR 6.7-13mm f/3.5-5.6 and VR 10-100mm f/4-5.6.

The 14.2MP 1 J3 and 10.1MP S1 boast of cramming in some advanced features in their compact form factors that resemble point and shoot devices. Inspired by other snappers belonging to this range, the cameras are deployed with a CX-format CMOS sensor and makes the most of the Expeed 3A image processing engine that is said to ensure high-quality image reproduction in dim lighting. Their ISO sensitivity is up to 6400 that works towards facilitating shooting in low light conditions.

Integrated with flash that can be controlled manually as well as through automatic adjustments, the shooters have been fitted with a 3-inch LCD screen for composing and previewing images. A responsive Hybrid Auto focus system with fast shooting speeds and a 73-point AF array are in place for capturing moving pictures without the blurring effect. In the continuous shooting mode, the devices can shoot movies at the rate of 15fps using continuous AF.

Especially for the convenience of photographers, there are multiple controls that can be accessed via the GUI mode selection for the S1. The J3 variant has menu navigation for the same and even arrives with the Easy Panorama function. Their modes include auto, creative, motion snapshot, best moment capture and more. The auto adjustments intuitively set modes that are apt for the scene that’s being captured.

And if that’s not enough, these devices tag along the Advanced Movie mode which enables users to take high resolution still shots while recording high definition and even slow-motion videos. Both cameras are compatible with the WU-1b Wireless Mobile Adapter which can be employed for the purpose of transferring data wirelessly to a smartphone or a tablet. The Wireless Mobile Adapter Utility application for Android and iOS lets people remotely control the shooter through a phone or slate.
