Olympus Pen E-PL5 and Pen E-PM2 compact system cameras say smile

Pen E-PL5

Expanding the lineup of Pen compact system cameras, the Olympus Pen E-PL5 and Pen E-PM2 have been unveiled. Both the devices are claimed to pack in some pretty decent image technology and a fast image processor to render competitive performance.

First to enter is the E-PL5 that dons an all-metal body drenched in shades of silver, white or black. It sports a swiveling monitor that delivers a wide viewing angle and even allows shutterbugs to flip the screen for self portraits. Owing to its compact size, the imager is said to be comfortably portable with no compromise on the DSLR functionality.

The second to come forth is the E-PM2 that has been designed for people taking baby steps in employing an interchangeable lens camera. Dressed in hues of white, silver, red, white and black, the Olympus gadget renders an instinctive vertical touch navigation menu that potential users can access by tapping the Menu button. This action enables switching of modes with ease and should make the experience hassle-free.

They share a 16.1MP High-Speed Live MOS sensor and a TruePic VI image processing engine to work effectively even in low light conditions. A number of accessories covering a BCL-15mm f8.0 Body Cap lens, a CBG-8 camera bag, a MCG-3PR camera grip for the E-PL5 and more are part of the show.
