Sony Camera

The all new Sony Alpha A99 is a full frame camera with 19 sensors and a dual AF system as well as a new AF range control function. The entire set-up is said to be ideal for professional photographers who can take advantage of the full-frame imaging tool coupled with Translucent Mirror technology.

Playing successor to the A900 DSLR, the one in question is said to be the first snapper with the aforesaid technology to incorporate a 35mm full-frame image sensor. This Exmor CMOS sensor renders a 24.3MP resolution and works in conjunction with the Bionz image processing engine. The complete arrangement is claimed to deliver quality stills and video recording.

Moreover, the gadget’s dual AF system provides room for accurate and swift auto focusing that holds on to the tracking focus even if the subject has left the 19-point AF frame. As an added convenience, the new AF range control function enables shutterbugs to set the distance range that’s identified by the AF system. This attribute should be ideal while shooting distant sports activities from a nearby fence.

This new Sony camera combines ‘cinematic DNA’ and a sensitive full-frame sensor with advanced features to capture video content. For extra simplicity, the camera is equipped with a silent multi-controller that can be used to adjust various parameters such as ISO sensitivity, shutter speed, audio record levels and more during full HD video capture.

The included XGA OLED Tru-Finder proffers a precise view of the object, while it is claimed to render 100% frame coverage with improved brightness, resolution, contrast and clarity. In spite of packing in a generous number of functions, the snapper tips the scales at just 733 grams. It’s considered quite light for a full frame interchangeable lens digital camera.

The Sony Alpha A99 is slated to arrive in Europe in early November.
