The Fujifilm FinePix S2980 has entered the company’s S series lineup for photography enthusiasts. The camera has been loaded with super zoom features that lay claim to enhancing wide angle photography.
The device features a 14-megapixel lens that captures and records content in HD. The 720p HD recording in 16:9 format is rendered by a CCD sensor that delivers a 28mm wide angle and 18x Fujinon optical zoom. Additionally, the snapper also provides an SD slot that extends support to SDHC and SDXC memory cards.

With this enhanced feature, uploading pictures/movies to Facebook or YouTube will be easy as you can start the process in your camera by tagging the images you want to share. The next time you connect to your home computer, your images will upload automatically. It also offers fantastic zoom option ranging from wide angle to stunning 504mm,†commented K Tanaka, Managing Director, Fujifilm India.
Packed in with several image stabilization technologies, the device should reduce the chances of distortion during still photography. The SR Auto feature selects the required camera settings for various modes by identifying six diverse kinds of conditions. The modes include Portrait, Landscape, Night, Macro, Night Portrait and Backlit Portrait.
The camera allows users to tag the images and recordings they intend to share. On plugging the device to a PC, the tagged content will get automatically uploaded to the designated destination. Users can additionally rank tagged content in order to simplify search. The Playback function offers red-eye removal and slideshow features.
The Fujifilm FinePix S2980 price is tagged at Rs. 12,499 and it’s covered by a two-year warranty.
