SteelSeries World of Warcraft mouse flaunts 11-button layout

SteelSeries World of Warcraft

The SteelSeries World of Warcraft mouse is here for fans of the MMO game. Designed in collaboration with Blizzard, the peripheral features a 11-button layout along with a range of ‘illumination and pulsation’ choices.

Topped off in stone-gray, the mouse shows a dimly lighted World of Warcraft logo in the backdrop. The Maelstrom pattern is allocated to a position behind the rune ring and the game’s logo. Each of the 11 buttons placed ergonomically on the accessory, is graced with a silver and matte finish. The keys are layered with a rubbery soft-touch material to deal with sweat and provide a firm grip during prolonged gaming sessions.

The wireless SteelSeries World of Warcraft mouse employs a laser sensor that apparently touches down at 8,200 CPI. Its generously proportioned top buttons are designed to be easily reachable. For more precise clicks, each of the left side buttons has been modified accordingly. Additionally, the built-in scroll wheel ticks away smoothly, making for a convenient gaming experience.

“We brought to market the first MMO gaming mouse more than three years ago with Blizzard, and since that product launch, we’ve been working to improve and perfect what the MMO community has wanted and asked for – from the size and button shape to the hardware and wireless functionality. The World of Warcraft Wireless Mouse not only answers players requests, but we’re confident that it will impress players by arming them with state of the art hardware features and an exceptional user experience,” cited Bruce Hawver, SteelSeries CEO.

Windows and Mac users should be able to endow above 130 preset game functions to the buttons owing to the responsive drag and drop layout of the mouse. Besides, in-game macro scripting language and custom macros can be generated. This SteelSeries gear is equipped with a docking station to serve as its charger and receiver. Simply connecting the mouse to a PC via a cable will juice it up. It is claimed to have a battery life of approximately 16 hours. The integrated SteelSeries Engine software is touted to allow storage of unlimited game profiles.

The SteelSeries World of Warcraft mouse price is marked at $129.99 (approx. Rs. 7,200) and it will be up for grabs by Q3 this year.
