Nikon launches high-definition D5100 DSLR camera in India

For people inclined towards capturing their good times touched by top-notch performance and complete elegance, Nikon has devised a new solution. The company recently announced the availability of its feature-loaded D5100 DSLR camera incorporating a 16.2 megapixel DX-format CMOS sensor.

With claims to being the first Nikon model to enable in-camera effects for photos and movies, the stylishly fabricated camera comes equipped with a 3-inch 9,21,000-dot Vari-angle LCD which can be conveniently rotated 180 degree vertically or horizontally. For low noise pictures, the device comes powered by an efficient Expeed 2 image processor, while quick focusing gets feasible through the integrated 11-point auto-focus system.

“Consumers want to carry only one device with them while travelling which can fulfill all their needs of capturing the beautiful moments of life. The D5100, a high-quality D-SLR is designed to respond to the needs of a broad range of users, from those using a D-SLR camera for the first time to those looking to express their individual sense of creativity through high quality images and the ability of HD movie creation,” shared Hiroshi Takashina, Managing Director, Nikon India. “With Nikon D5100, consumers have a simple path to creative freedom for both stills and movies.”

The promising D5100 also boasts of its Nikkor lenses, Nikon VI II technology, Live-view and a dedicated button for activating D-Movie mode. Users can now delightfully take 1080p AVC-HD H.264 videos at 24fps or 30fps and shoot full high-definition movies in continuous auto-focus mode.

Apart from this, the 1,02,400 ISO levels in night vision mode have been housed to augment the photography experience, while the Active D-Lighting can be used by itself or in combination with HDR for high-quality pictures.

The Nikon D5100 can be purchased now for Rs. 39,950 alongside the AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-55mm lens. Without the stated lens, the camera will cost users Rs. 34,450.
