Rugged Ricoh G600 Digital Camera Unveiled

Ricoh G600 Camera

Ricoh seems to understand the pain that adventurous travelers go through when they find their digital cameras totally spoiled because of the dust and water sprinkles. Thus, the company targeting them, now launches a rugged digital camera, named G600. This lightweight camera can withstand water at a depth of 1m, dust and even shocks of up to 1.5m fall.

The outdoor use digital camera meets the demand of the US Department of Defense standard, while testing for the shock-resistance feature. It offers 5x optical wide-angle zoom lens, a 1cm macro function and a flash range of 10m, ISO3200 sensitivity for low-light photography, up to 10 million pixels CCD and a large high-definition 2.7-inch picture display with pre-installed light sensor that automatically adjusts brightness according to the ambient light level.

You can connect the G600 to the computer through a USB cable. It features the skew correction mode to modify images, PictBridge standard to connect to the picture without computer usage, and a large-capacity lithium ion AAA battery that ensures approximately 360 shots (CIPA standard) at one go.

Measuring 116.5×68.0×32.0 mm (WxHxD) and weighing 260 g, the compact Ricoh G600 is scheduled to launch in May 2008 for the estimated costs of £349.99 (approx. Rs. 27,820).
