I have been waiting for a long time for a super zoom camera from the Nikon stable as their slr’s r way too expensive for hobbyist like me. If one was to go for a Nikon DSLR and a 18x equvelent lens kit it would require lakhs, while as the P80 could be purchased abroad for 12000 to 16000 depending on vendors.
My only dissapointment is that their rival Olympus already has a super zoom camera that offer 20 x range. Therefore Nikon would have fared better had they directly gone for atleast 22x if not 20x. This mistake of Nikon is going to gift Olyumpus a big chunk of the super zoom market. Nikon is not going to offer 20x for another year thats bad news.
