The U.S. Cellular Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is the first device that’s ready to roll on the carrier’s 4G LTE network. The slate will operate on U.S. Celluar’s 3G band in areas where the company hasn’t dug in with its LTE network.

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 has been around for so long, we could practically recite its specifications in our sleep. But for those who want to be reminded – the tablet has a 1280 x 800p, 10.1 WXGA Plus TFT touchscreen, and hence the 10.1 in its moniker. The 32GB slate runs on the Google Android Honeycomb OS and gets its steam from a 1GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 processor.

“The Galaxy Tab 10.1 is the first of many cutting-edge devices slated for use on the 4G LTE network,” remarked Edward Perez, vice president of sales and marketing operations for U.S. Cellular. “This sleek and functional tablet makes it easier than ever for busy customers to simplify and organize their lives.”

A 3.2MP camera with AF, LED flash and 720p HD video recording capabilities sits on the Galaxy Tab’s back panel, while the front features a 2MP sensor which supports video calling. Samsung says that users can look forward to roughly 12 hours of battery life on a single charge and there’s access to the Android Market, of course. In terms of dimensions, the chassis weighs 3.9 ounces and sports a 0.34-inch side profile.

The U.S. Cellular Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 price seems to be rather heavy, considering that the tablet’s successor was unveiled recently. It’s being sold for $499 (approx. Rs. 25,550) after a $100 (approx. Rs. 5,100) mail-in rebate. But as a limited time deal, fans in certain markets will be able to snap it up for $399 (approx. Rs. 20,430), after the aforesaid rebate.
