With the Acer Iconia Tab A510, it’s the first time the company has delved into the Nvidia Tegra 3 quad core processor territory. Though we haven’t been offered any word on the release date as yet, the slate is already up for pre-sale in the U.S. and Canada.
Running through the key highlights, the tablet sports a 1280 x 800p resolution, 10.1-inch, 10-point touch capacitive screen and leans on Android 4.0 or the Ice Cream Sandwich platform. The Tegra 3 CPU with its Super 4-Plus-1 quad core design, is supported by a 12-core Nvidia GPU. The CPU’s architecture ensures that four cores are ready to deliver performance-heavy tasks, while a fifth one kicks in when battery saving is on priority. And since Flash is still a widely employed web standard, the device lands pre-loaded with Adobe Flash 11 to extend users a complete browsing experience.

The Acer Iconia Tab A510 is fitted with a 9800mAh battery which can apparently render up to 12 hours of video playback. The connectivity options proffered to users cover micro HDMI, microUSB 2.0, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR. The device operates on 1GB of RAM and there’s a microSD card reader which accommodates cards of up to 32GB as well as 32GB flash storage space. Additionally, a 5MP, AF camera perches on its rear side and a 1MP FF one graces the front bezel.
The Acer Iconia Tab A510 price for pre-order in the U.S. and Canada is $449.99 (approx. Rs. 23,050). It comes in silver and black color options and there’s a $39.99 (approx. Rs. 2,050) protective case up for sale too.
