The Samsung Galaxy Metrix 4G U.S. Cellular phone is the latest to join the carrier’s 4G LTE gang to provide enhanced connectivity. This handset rides into town with Google’s Gingerbread platform, powered by a 1GHz processor.

Measuring 4.96″ x 2.54″ x 0.55″ in dimensions, the phone weighs around 5.8 ounces. Users can browse the internet and access social networking websites like Facebook and Twitter over 3G and 4G LTE. Like the Galaxy S3, this smartphone is loaded with various apps including AllShare Play which allows users to view and share content on other devices. For texters, there is a slide-out QWERTY keypad that should offer quick input.

“We are excited to offer our latest 4G LTE smartphone for our customers to help them get more done in less time,” commented Edward Perez, vice president of sales and marketing operations for U.S. Cellular. “The large touchscreen and popular QWERTY keyboard for fast typing make the Galaxy Metrix 4G the go-to device for customers who depend on their smartphone to keep up with their busy schedules.”

On the front, a 4-inch Super AMOLED touch panel is accompanied by a 1.3MP camera for self portraits and face-to-face chats. The 5MP snapper placed on the rear comes with video recording capabilities accompanied by an LED flash. Lastly, this device is juiced up by a Li-ion battery that’s capable of delivering roughly 7 hours of talktime or 145 days of standby on a single charge.

The Samsung Galaxy Metrix 4G U.S. Cellular price stands at $179 (approx. Rs. 9,930), after a $100 mail-in rebate. It will also be available in 4G markets at a cost of $129 (approx. Rs. 7,160) by the end of this year.
