By including the Nikon Coolpix P7700 in its compact camera lineup, the company claims to set new standards in professional photography. Along with the above mentioned flagship device, the manufacturer has also unveiled the Coolpix S01 and the Android-powered Coolpix S800c.

This snapper dons a 1/1.7-inch 12.2MP CMOS BSI sensor paired with a Nikkor ED glass lens that’s capable of delivering up to 7.1x optical zoom. The optics employed here sport a maximum aperture of f/2 and the camera shoots within the equivalent range of 28mm to 200mm. Users will be able to capture up to 6 continuous stills at a rate of 8fps, owing to the image processor. There is a Lens-Shift Vibration Reduction function that reduces blurs and shakes in various lighting conditions.

Apart from an ISO range of 80 to 1600, the device supports RAW capturing that enables users to take stills and customize them without having to compromise on the image quality. Along with intelligent autofocus, it provides a roundabout of 19 Scene Modes, and a Scene Auto Selector. The camera is deployed with a 3-inch vari-angle TFT LCD that can be rotated in order to view content from various angles.

The Nikon Coolpix P7700 price sums up to $499.95 (approx. Rs. 27,750) and its release date is confirmed to fall in September of this year.
