Samsung Galaxy Chat

The newly unveiled Samsung Galaxy Chat is all set to be launched in Spain this July, followed by the rest of Europe, Latin America, China, Middle East and Southeast and Southwest Asia. As the name hints, this handset flaunts a QWERTY keypad along with social-centric features.

Functioning on the Ice Cream Sandwich OS, the device employs an 850MHz application processor and sports a 3-inch QVGA TFT LCD display that offers a resolution of 240 x 320p. Along with a 2MP main camera, it provides a music player with SoundAlive technology and other audio features like a 3.5mm ear jack, a speaker and FM radio with RDS. The 112g phone is powered by a 1200mAh battery that offers 3G talk time of 300 minutes and 3G standby time of 380 hours.

There’s a QWERTY keypad for easy texting and the Favorites tray and widgets may be personalized. Notifications can be viewed or the snapper activated directly from the lockscreen. The Samsung phone tags along the Quick Office app that enables users to view and edit documents in various formats via MS Word, PowerPoint or Excel. Additionally, users can fix and manage their daily schedules by wielding the company’s S Planner application. Like the Galaxy S3, this device also features AllShare Play that allows users to play back multimedia files from or through other externally connected devices.

Heavy on the connectivity front, the Samsung Galaxy Chat offers a dedicated launch key for the ChatOn app that connects people from a single community. Through this application, users can chat in groups and send standard or multimedia messages quickly. Casual gamers can look up the pre-loaded Game Hub for a host of social titles. Apart from Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB, this smartphone offers easy access to a range of Google services like Google Latitude and Google Play store.

The Samsung Galaxy Chat price and release details date are still under wraps. However, it will commence shipping sometime in July.
