After being distributed in the UK via Clove, the Samsung Galaxy Beam is now up for pre-order in India via the company’s online store. As its name signifies, the device flaunts a potent mobile beam projector that can also be used as a personal visual presenter.

Diving directly into the tech specs, the device is based on the Android Gingerbread platform that teams up with a 1GHz dual core application processor, 768 RAM and an 8GB onboard storage to give it multi-tasking abilities. A 4-inch WVGA TFT touchscreen runs over its 123.9 x 64.2 x 12.6 contour. It is armed with a 5MP CMOS sensor with LED flash and AF features, and a 1.3MP CMOS one that offers video-conferencing abilities on the move.

Apart from the above mentioned sensors, it also features other niceties like an accelerometer and a geo-magnetic sensor, as well as gyro, light and proximity sensors. Under the hood, this 148g device is juiced up by a 2000mAh battery that offers roughly 575 minutes 3G talk time and 760 hours of both 2G and 3G standby time.
