Games GameChanger for iPad

The electronic game board, GameChanger for iPad, was announced by Identity Games yesterday. This app-based accessory works when connected to the iPad and offers two games for kids namely, the Magic School Bus by Scholastic and Animal Mania.

The two games can be played with the GameChanger by downloading the free accompanying app from the App store. Users have to simply place the iPad into the device’s cradle, after which kids can start playing either game. The iPad screen becomes the board for the game and game pieces interact with the iPad by asking questions and deploying tasks so that users are constantly informed about whose turn is next. The gameplay is always guided as the board and iPad are kept connected.

Emile Kalis, Creative Director, Identity Games commented, “The GameChanger is going to revolutionize traditional board game play. By bringing together the best of both worlds – board games and the world’s number one tablet, GameChanger offers an entirely new gaming experience for the family that is both fun and educational.”

Like its name suggests, Animal Mania features cute little creatures and kids have to work their way across various eras and continents to learn about different animals in the world. It is also a knowledge providing tool as players are provided information regarding animals’ behavior and habitats. Besides regular animals, the game features mammals and sea creatures as well as those prehistoric dinosaurs.

In the Magic School Bus game, kids can enjoy a virtual classroom with Ms. Frizzle as their teacher who teaches them by using fantasy and science. Here too, players can travel and see the world along with learning fun facts via video clips and questions. Both the titles in GameChanger for iPad come with trivia questions, enjoyable tasks and riddles to keep users entertained.

The Identity Games GameChanger for iPad comes with the electronic game board, four game skins, four game pieces and a free iTunes app download. It is priced at $79.99 (approx. Rs. 3,933) and is available at retailers including Toys”R”Us, Apple Stores and Amazon.com.
