Hatch & Co. Skinny iPad 2 case comes with an integrated keyboard

Skinny iPad 2

The Hatch & Co. Skinny iPad 2 case is the newest to venture into the accessory market for Apple’s famed tablet. This peripheral is primarily a cover for the slate, which also works as a thin and lightweight keyboard.

The case cum keypad is crafted of faux leather, and with a depth of 0.6-inch, it is claimed to be the lightest and slimmest wireless keyboard in the world. To some extent, this is achieved by replacing traditional chiclet keys with buttons utilizing touch technology. The device happens to tip the scale at around 10.4 ounces.

“Pushing the innovation envelope is what we’re all about at Hatch & Co. and we are excited to see how others in the Apple and gadget communities will respond to what we have accomplished with the Skinny iPad 2 keyboard case,” said Kenny Chen, General Manager of Hatch & Co.

In contrast to its sleek and elegant appearance, this keyboard is equipped to sustain spills and dust, thus making it hassle free to be carried and used. Embedded with a 410mAh battery, this can run for up to 68 hours of working time, or 45 days when on standby. It requires to be powered for up to 2 hours through its accompanying USB battery charger before it can be put back to work.

Wireless pairing of the keypad with the iPad 2 is enabled with Bluetooth connectivity. By means of this, it can also be connected with the iPhone. Just like the original iPad Smart Cover, this one also has a sensor which puts the tablet back to sleep when pulled over the screen.

The Hatch & Co. Skinny iPad 2 case can now be grabbed from Amazon for a price of $89.99 (approx. Rs. 4,386).
