Those who are on the lookout for a well-endowed tablet that does not dig a deep hole in the pocket, can consider the Kogan Agora as a potential option. The 16GB version of the affordable 10-inch tablet can be grabbed for a price of under $200.

The front panel of the slab in question is dominated by a capacitive multi-touch screen of 1020 x 768p resolutions along with illuminated soft keys. Based on the latest Android platform, that is, the Ice Cream Sandwich OS, the Kogan tablet has also been included with 1GB RAM and a 1.2GHz processor for multitasking properties. Although it is available in variants of 8GB and 16GB, the company has also thrown in a microSD card slot to expand the memory further.

“We’ve listened to feedback from our first foray into Android tablets, which people said was priced exactly where they wanted it – a guilt-free way to get into tablet computing. However, Android 2.3 provided limitations that we’ve overcome with Android 4.0 ICS. With access to the brand new Google Play, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and video chat through Skype, more Australians will now be able to stay connected with their friends and the world using a highly versatile tablet,” quoted Ruslan Kogan.

This slate’s communication options are inclusive of Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing users to browse the web on the move. A 2MP camera graces the rear panel, while a webcam has been fitted on the front side. It can offer uninterrupted computing for about 8 hours and has been embedded with a USB port, a headphone jack and an HDMI output.

The 16GB Kogan Agora price is $199 (approx. Rs. 10,830), and that of the 8GB version is $179 (approx. Rs. 7,940) in Australia. Currently up for pre-order, it will not be dispatched to buyers before June 25.
