The Microsoft Surface may not have been released officially in India, but its price has already been revealed by an e-retailer. Those interested in picking it up before it is unveiled by the company can place their pre-orders through eBay.
Although it comes in variants with 32GB and 64GB onboard storage, only the 32GB version has been introduced in the country. Users can either choose to buy only the tablet or purchase it along with a Touch Cover in shades of black, white, magenta, cyan and red. Only recently, the device went up for pre-order in the US and will hit store shelves on October 26. It will also be up for sale in countries like Germany, Hong Kong, Australia, France, the UK, Canada and China.
The Windows device boasts of a smooth VaporMg finish that makes it elegant and durable, without the bulkiness. Weighing not more than 1.5 pounds, the slate comes across as pretty portable as it flaunts a form factor that measures merely 0.37 inches in thickness. The Nvidia T30 processor teams up with 2GB RAM ensure on-the-go multitasking. Based on Windows 8, it is pre-loaded with applications like Microsoft Office Home and Students 2013 Preview, SkyDrive and Windows Messaging amongst others.
Outfitted with a 10.6-inch ClearType 5-point touchscreen, it has been armed with dual 720p cameras. The slab allows users to wirelessly browse the web using its built-in Wi-Fi and ensures wireless transfer of data through Bluetooth. It claims to cough up the juice for close to 8 hours on a single charge.
The Microsoft Surface can be reserved through eBay for a price of Rs. 38,490 and for Rs. 45,990 with a Touch Cover. It is slated to start shipping on November 2.
