Landing in a timely fashion, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 has hit store shelves in the US for those eager to get their hands on the tablet. Potential buyers can grab the device dipped in shades of white and dark grey via the company’s authorized retailers.

Running through the main highlights of the Note tablet, it houses a 1.4GHz quad core processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB or 32GB of internal memory. Its hoarding space can be further stretched up to 32GB through the embedded microSD card slot. If that’s not enough, users can opt for a free two-year Dropbox subscription that provides 50GB of storage capacity. As the name hints, the device dons a 10.1-inch display that offers a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels.

“Our goal with the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 was simple – redefine the tablet experience,” states Tim Baxter, President, Samsung Electronics America. “The S Pen offers both active content creation as well as passive content consumption, while the Multiscreen capability finally enables true multitasking. For the user, the resulting experience is completely new and quite unexpected.”

The provided multimedia capabilities can be attributed to the 5MP rear-facing camera that tags along features such as AF and LED flash. There is also a 1.9MP front-facing snapper which enables video calling while on the move. Connectivity features include IR LED and Wi-Fi support apart from the regular USB 2.0 port. The Barnes & Noble Nook free reading app as well as the Nook for Android widget comes pre-installed within the slate. Under the hood, a 7,000mAh battery juices up the ICS-based device.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 price stands at $499 (approx. Rs. 43,670) for the 16GB variant and $549 (approx. Rs. 48,050) for the 32GB one. It can be picked up via Best Buy, Amazon, HH Gregg, Tiger Direct, BrandSmart, CDW, Conn’s and Fry’s.
