Karbonn Agnee tablet enters the education segment

Karbonn Agnee

The Karbonn Agnee has arrived and by the looks of it, other similar 7-inch tablets are likely to get a run for their money, especially if the price is competitive. This particular device has been designed along with Innominds and it’s intended to deliver a convenient, connected platform to both students and faculties.

The slate in question brings in the QTI Reference Design as one of its main highlights. So though its cost still remains undisclosed, we can hope for the tag to fall somewhere under the budget-friendly range like the previously launched Smart Tab 2’s. Like the latter, this one too shows off a 7-inch touch panel and rides into town on the Ice Cream Sandwich platform. But whether it has the same TFT 800 x 480 pixel display type seen in the Tab 2, or not, still remains unclear.

Users will have 3G HSPA support for web browsing, checking mails as well as downloading and uploading content while on the move. For those who like watching content on big screens, there is an HDMI port on the Karbonn Agnee, which allows customers to hook up external displays like TV sets and monitors. For this particular tablet, the company has employed a Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 MSM 7x27A processor clocked at 1GHz to do all the heavy lifting.

Last on the specifications list is a 4000mAh Li-polymer battery that juices up all the above mentioned components, apparently sufficient to offer a day’s worth of run time on a single complete charge. Well, this is definitely not the first slate to target the education sector in the country. Prior to this, we have also had the AcrossWorld ATab and the Aakash 2 entering the field. For now, potential buyers will have to wait for the company to shed some more light on the details.

As mentioned above, the price and release date information for the Karbonn Agnee tablet has not been disclosed.
