AcrossWorld ATab low-cost educational tablet introduced in India

The AcrossWorld ATab is the latest tablet to wash up on the shores of India. This slab arrives with a pocket-friendly price tag and aims to cater to various educational institutions like schools and colleges. The gadget is the result of a partnership between AcrossWorld and Delhi-based manufacturer, Go-Tech.

Duly empowered by Android, the front panel of the slate is dominated by a 7-inch TFT touchscreen display. All operations of the AcrossWorld ATab are carried out by a processor clocking in at 1.1GHz. The offering is also expected to feature 512MB RAM along with 2GB built-in memory that is expandable up to 16GB. Additionally, the Wi-Fi capabilities are touted to stay right in place along with an external 3G USB dongle.

The latest entrant is incorporated with a 3-year free unlimited access to the AcrossWorld Education technology platform going by the name of EducationBridge. This facility allows professionals and students to gain access to a range of content such as Open Educational Resources, Open Content and Legacy content.

Notably, professional services are also integrated into the software for training potential users on the different methods of accessing EducationBridge. To appeal to the younger generation, the slab will apparently come dressed in vivid colors.

The AcrossWorld ATab price is slated to be marked at Rs. 5000 and it will hit markets in India by the second week of March.
