10-inch Samsung Google Nexus tablet may be on the cards

A Samsung Google Nexus tablet seems to be in the offing and will arrive with a 10.1-inch touchscreen in tow. Rumor has it that besides this device, Google plans to collaborate with a couple of other manufacturers to introduce the HTC Nexus 5 and the LG Optimus G Nexus smartphones.

CNET reports that the slate plans to take on the new iPad and will render visuals in 2560 x 1600p resolutions at 299 pixels per inch. The Apple tablet’s 9.7-inch Retina display of 264ppi renders 2,048 x 1,536p resolution. The aforementioned website’s source Richard Shim from NPD DisplaySearch, has also revealed that the guys over at Mountain View are currently working on a tab that costs not more than $99, which will enter mass production in December.

Google has already partnered with Samsung to come up with Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus, but the South Korean manufacturer is yet to design a slate for the former. The first ever Nexus tablet was produced by Asus and the device has done pretty well for itself as it brought along the Android Jelly Bean OS as well as the quad core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor. Additionally, it refrained from carrying a heavy price tag and that seemed to have worked in its favor.

Furthermore, the 7-inch Nexus slab flaunts an IPS display of 1280 x 800p HD resolution and wears a Corning Gorilla Glass film to avoid scratches. Along with the touchscreen, there’s a 1.2MP camera on the front panel and a 4,325mAh battery under the hood that offers web browsing time of up to 10 hours at a stretch.

Both companies have chosen to keep mum regarding the speculation and we haven’t received a confirmation for the Samsung Google Nexus tablet as yet.
